METRO said that one person on the train was taken to the hospital for medical evaluation, and no other injuries were reported at this time.
MPD said preliminary information suggested the METRORail train was struck by the fire department vehicle.
Eyewitness News previously reported that an HFD public information officer said that HFD's Engine 9 was responding to a call with lights and sirens when it was hit by the light rail train.
That same day, METRO Police told Eyewitness News that preliminary information indicated the light rail train was struck by the fire truck, causing a derailment.
METRO said the Houston Police Department was investigating the crash.
